Homeless Veteran Stand Down 2018
A Safe Haven Foundation hosted its 5th Annual Homeless Veteran Stand Down on Saturday, May 19, 2018, and AT&T Pioneers volunteered to help out! A STAND DOWN is when hundreds of homeless and at-risk veterans are provided access to a wide range of services by representatives from academia, workforce development, social services, and the health care industry. Veterans were greeted with honor, respect, and open arms. They were offered nutritious meals and provided with attentive care. The vets are also provided backpacks containing clothing and hygiene items. The opening ceremony began with the national anthem and all speakers thanked the veterans for their service, stating that they are the brave in the home of the brave.
AT&T Pioneers wish to thank the vets for their service.
