Student Tools For Emergency Planning (STEP)

Student Tools for Emergency Planning, or STEP, is a classroom-based emergency preparedness curriculum for fourth and fifth graders designed in an easy, ready-to-teach format. Students will learn about disasters, emergencies, and hazards, and how to create a disaster supply kit and family emergency communication plan.

AT&T Wisconsin has partnered with the Wisconsin Management Center with a monetary donation and each year Pioneer Volunteers gather at the center and sort bags and stuff them with items (flashlight, emergency kit, blanket) and package them in boxes to be sent to schools in Wisconsin that have signed up for the program.  Each year we have about 25 Pioneers that sort and stuff 10,000 bags.

This was the 7th year that Pioneers have partnered with AT&T and the Wisconsin Emergency Center to provide material for teaching.
